FAQ | The DUO Döner & Deli
What is döner?
Döner ("doh-nair") is a Turkish street food — seasoned meat slow-roasted on a vertical spit, then shaved fresh to order. Served in warm pita, lavash, crispy pide, or over rice.
Döner vs. gyro vs. shawarma
Same cooking method, different heritage. Döner is Turkish. Gyro is Greek — think Mediterranean herbs and tzatziki. Shawarma is Middle Eastern, spiced with cumin, cinnamon, and cardamom.
Proteins, bread, and sauces
Chicken, beef & lamb, mixed-meat döner, shish skewers, and falafel — served in pita, lavash, pide, or a rice bowl. Signature sauces: garlic, spicy, tahini, and mint yogurt. Rice bowls are a gluten-friendly option; kitchen is not certified gluten-free.
