Fine-dining craft meets authentic street döner
The DUO was born from one obsession: apply the care of a fine-dining kitchen to the bold, smoky soul of European street döner. Chef/Owner Jacob and Owner/Operator Maja opened on Siesta Key's Ocean Boulevard in 2024.
How it started
After Michelin-starred service, Chef Jacob would wind down at neighborhood kebab shops — shoulder-to-shoulder with locals, eating food that stuck with him. That contrast — white-tablecloth precision versus smoky, unapologetic street food — became the whole idea.
Jacob's European kitchens
Chef Jacob spent years alongside Michelin-starred chefs across Europe, learning the discipline that shapes every dish at The DUO. The rotisserie is treated with the same intention as any plate leaving a serious kitchen.
Hurricanes Helene and Milton
Just months after opening, The DUO faced back-to-back hurricanes — Helene and then Milton — that tested everything Jacob and Maja had built. They pushed through, kept the counter open, and came out the other side with the same commitment to their guests they started with.
